Social Policy
The Management and Property of the H10 Tindaya hotel share the commitment to ensure a positive relationship between the hotel and the local community and its businesses.
The H10 Tindaya hotel ensures that its social and economic impacts are positive and beneficial for the local community as much as possible. The H10 Tindaya hotel also strives to minimize and eliminate possible negative impacts.
Our Community Policy and main objectives are the following:
1. Certification
To broadly meet the sustainability criteria including socio-economic impacts and staff welfare, we are certified in Biosphere in 2018.
2. Responsible promotion of tourism in the area
The H10 Tindaya hotel is a member of several Certifications already obtained, such as TÜV Rheinland, H10 Quality and Biosphere ISO 9001, so through this forum we can promote and improve the economic and social benefits of homes and businesses in the community .
The hotel also works with colleges, professional schools and universities, upon request, to provide accommodation, training programs and, where possible, job opportunities. Likewise, H10 Tindaya cooperates with local associations and non-profit organizations (youth associations, sports associations, etc.) to support activities that involve local society and benefit its members with their development.
3. Shopping
The H10 Tindaya hotel buys and promotes local area productions, while ensuring that the quality of food does not compromise guest comfort. This helps reduce CO2 emissions from freight transport coming from international destinations. When possible, we pay our suppliers in the terms requested.
4. Employment
The H10 Tindaya hotel recognizes the importance of recruiting local staff as preferred employees. This increases the chances of the money being reinvested in the local community. In addition, it encourages local residents to remain in the community before they seek employment outside the community. Politics preserves our destiny which is the basis of potential repeat guests.
5. Donations and charity
The H10 Tindaya hotel donates items such as furniture or bedding that can no longer be used by the hotel to local organizations that can benefit from them (eg schools, local hospitals, community groups, etc.).
The H10 Tindaya hotel also carefully considers how it can help the local community by providing in-kind assistance (food, know-how, day use bonuses, dinner at the à la carte restaurant, spa sessions, etc. to be used in galas beneficial or raffles)
6. Our vision
In H10 Tindaya we aim to improve relations with the local community in 2020, promoting local sports teams. It will also give the hotel employees the opportunity to benefit from Christmas parties, family days, use of the facilities, etc.
Efforts will be made to establish business relationships with local artisans to display their products to our guests and give them the opportunity to sell them regularly at our facilities.
For events that are held inside the hotel, for example: on the day of the Canary Islands, there will continue to be musicians from the community who come to delight the evening of guests with typical parrandas of the island, products from Fuerteventura will be exhibited and the show will show off typical dress of the majoreros and majoreras.
In our commitment to reducing paper use, we have installed digital information totems where all the environmental and social policy of H10 Tindaya is exposed, as well as information about the island, culture, landscapes, sports, etc. so that the visitor obtains an added value on the destination during his stay with us.
